Step into an eighteen-month adventure alongside the ‘tribe’, a friendly community of likeminded military Christians who, like you, long to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and live out their faith in the Armed Forces.
Issachar is more than just a programme – it’s a pathway of discovery, growth, and obedience. Together, you’ll explore what God is calling you to do as His faithful servant and begin to walk confidently in your unique role as a Christlike leader within your military context.
Issachar raises Christian leaders – anchored in faith – and leaders who are Christians, equipped to influence their units, families, and the wider military community.
Throughout this journey, you’ll be encouraged, enabled, and equipped to discern God’s voice, deepen your discipleship, and influence your military community for the Kingdom.
How it happens
Issachar is built around six transformational elements:
- Gathering – Three immersive residential weekends over 18 months that build community, spiritual depth, and shared momentum.
- Envisioning – Clarify your personal calling and discover your place in God’s bigger story.
- Training – Be shaped in spiritual leadership through rich teaching on discipleship and Christlike influence.
- Mentoring – Receive one-to-one encouragement, wisdom, and accountability to help you stay the course.
- Engaging – Step out in faith with a practical mission project, responding to God’s call in your own context.
- Example – Be inspired by the witness and testimony of other Christian leaders serving in the military.

Your Commitment
We’ve worked hard to keep the cost of the Issachar programme as accessible as possible. The total cost is £750 per person, which covers everything including all three residential weekends at Shallowford House in Stafford, all course materials, online training sessions, and personalised one-to-one mentoring.
We understand this may feel like a significant amount, but flexible payment in instalments is available, and grants can be offered where finances present a genuine challenge. We never want money to be the reason someone misses out on this journey.
The residential weekends are a core part of the Issachar experience. While we realise that military commitments can sometimes make full attendance difficult, we ask all participants to prioritise these gatherings, especially the first weekend, which is foundational to the course. Regular online check-ins with your mentor are also an essential part of the journey and are arranged at times that suit you both.
Put simply: the more you invest, the more you’ll grow. We believe that what you gain through Issachar in friendship, faith, and formation, will far outweigh the cost, because this isn’t just about leadership in ministry -it’s about becoming leaders who are Christians, wherever God places you.
