The Power of the Cross – Widow of Military Veteran

The Power of the Cross – Widow of Military Veteran

My son seemed to lose interest in the Lord at university, so my husband and I prayed a lot for him. As I was praying for him, I felt prompted by the Lord to pray specifically for him to realise just how much the Lord showed His love for him in dying for him, and that a half-hearted relationship with Him in the light of this was not appropriate.

It was thrilling to hear him giving his testimony at his baptism a year or so later. He had gone to a youth Christian camp (another answer to prayer as he was undecided for a long time about whether to go to this or to go skiing with friends) in his Easter vacation.

He explained that during the camp someone had found some wood in a copse and turned it into a cross for the room in which they worshipped. As he looked at this cross the Lord convicted him that His death on the cross deserved a whole-hearted response from him! He is now in his 50s and still seeking to serve the Lord with all his heart.
