One Monday morning in 2022, during the Armed Forces’ Christian Union’s staff prayers, a member of staff asked for prayer. Her asthma had been become really bad during the previous year, resulting in being admitted to hospital, and she had been waiting for a specialist doctor’s appointment before the main hay fever season began. She had just heard that morning that her appointment had been cancelled and rearranged for 4 months’ later. She was really concerned, and we prayed that there would be a cancellation and that she would receive an early appointment.
By 11am she had had a telephone call offering her an appointment on Wednesday. She attended the appointment but was told that she would need to return (a 1½ hour journey) for an appointment with another specialist. She was concerned regarding the logistics of having to return, but on the way out of the hospital her phone rang. It was the consultant’s secretary ringing her to make the next appointment. She explained that she was currently in the hospital and asked if it would it be possible to see the specialist that day? The secretary replied that they had just had a no-show and invited her to go straight over for an appointment.
Our God is not stingy – He loves to answer our prayers and bless us abundantly, more than we could ask or imagine.
